Cleaning my guns is a full time gig

The good: I've been getting myself to the range around 2-3 times a week lately.

The bad: All of my free time away from the range is spent cleaning my guns!

Seriously, anyone want to come over and clean my guns for me, full time? I'll pay in .22lr

Start shooting USPSA and you wont clean your guns for a month. Problem solved!

You might need one of these.

Wow, that's awesome. I'll have to start saving up. Maybe in the meantime I can just use the hot tub in my backyard. If I turn the jets on, it should be close enough, right?

It's actually cheap if you compare it to the professional ones.

Sharpertek Ultrasonic Rifle Cleaner 56" Dual Tank. Our new models of ultrasonic rifle cleaners will quickly and effortlessly remove dirt, carbon, and grease from even the most soiled guns

You don't need to clean em after every time you shoot, nor every three times either.

Haha yeah it might be a bit overkill. But if I don't clean em often, I just feel...dirty... Better to clean them too often than not enough, I guess

I usually just field strip mine, mine them down then put a fresh layer of FireClean on the internals.

Not really, just burns through cleaning supplies and results in unnecessarily cramming rods and tools(brushes and jags) down the bore. Regular inspection, a quick wipe down, and lubrication is good though.

I've got friends like you. They can't put 20 rounds down range through a gun, without spending 45 minutes cleaning the thing when they get home. It's so ridiculous that they complain about how long it takes to clean 4 or 5 guns from a range trip, and they'll make excuses to not go shooting because they don't want to clean. I hand 'em a gun of mine at the range, they blast away and think nothing of it, till I state that it hasn't seen a cleaning rod in 2 months... then they flip their **** and act like I handed them a gun covered in ebola.

"If that pistol can't handle being put away with 50 rounds down the pipe, it's a piece of crap and I don't want it in my safe"
"well it needs to be clean"
"do you clean your holstered gun every day?"
                        "no but..."

Realistically, you've got 2 options. Shoot less like the people I know who make excuses to not go to the range because they hate cleaning, or quit wasting so much time on it.

Cleaning as well as reloading is therapeutic.

You don't have to wipe your butt every time either. Maybe you pinched a clean loaf. Ya still give it a once over.
                              Or do you?

                              ^ that's f**** hilarious
