    united shield international body armor

So I'm at knob creek and there's some folks selling lvl 3a w/o trama plates. "Black water surplus" they say. Looks good, and many different sizes. it wraps around the sides and has the rows of velcro hooks on the front. Manufacture dates from 2012 to 2014. Price of $200 per. I checked the insides and the soft armor Is there, so it'd not just some carrier and has slots for plates. Any info on this stuff?

They also said it's made of woven arimid Kevlar and twaRon

I've never heard of them. Body armor isn't something to go cheap on. About the cheapest I would ever buy is the ~$500 galls lv3a vest. It's recommended that you replace soft armor every 5 years so these vests are coming up on the end of their useful lifespan. Sure, an expired vest will stop bullets most of the time. But I'm not willing to bet my life on a maybe. I have personally shot up 3 expired vests. 2 of them stopped dozens of .40 s&w and .45 acp rounds. The third one didn't even stop a .22lr.

I'd ask how it's Blackwater surplus when they haven't been around since 2009 when they changed their name and the new company was sold in 2010.

              Armor has serial numbers.

Get the serial number off one and call the company to see if it is legit.
