    holster safety question

I just received a new leather holster for my CZ PCR and generally I like it a lot. One thing I noticed though is that it doesn't completely cover the trigger guard like my other hybrid holsters have in the past. Most of it is covered, but enough is showing to make me wonder if this is normal, and if its something I should be worried about safety wise. I can get my finger down to touch the trigger but wouldn't be able to engage it (I have small hands), but a smaller child's hand might be able to, which is what has me thinking about it. Any advice? I feel a little uncomfortable with how it is but don't know if I'm being overly anal about it. I don't want to go back to the holster maker and make an issue over something that I don't need to. Is this something you would request of the maker to be fixed? Let me know what you think.

It does not sppear that there is enough room to get a finger in that space between the holster and lower rear corner of trigger guard so I don't see that an accidental discharge would be likely while wearing or drawing; especially if your index finger is outstretched as it would typically be. And of course, make sure your finger is not in the guard when holstering.

Yeah, not exactly like the mfg's picture. You'd need really small fingers to get one in that small opening. It's well behind the trigger so you're safe.

I guess the concern is not a finger, but ANYTHING that could fit in there.

A pen for example. If you get stuck with something in that area that is narrow enough could it get the needed leverage.

A common problem were those draw strings on wind blazers getting caught in a glock trigger while reholstering.

It looks generally safe to me though, but your saying a small finger can get in there makes me wonder what else might make it in there.
Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

And this is where I'm at. It looks generally safe to me mostly covered, but could something smaller than a finger get caught in there and cause a discharge? Like a pen, small child's finger, or something else. Probably not very likely but could be possible. I guess my biggest question is am I out of line asking for a refund or new holster?

It doesn't look anything like the Manufacturer's picture and if you are concerned, you have every right to request a do-over or refund.

Other's may not agree but it is your holster that you paid for and need to feel safe with. Not mine or theirs.

Different models of pistols. They will fit differently in each holster...It's not an issue.
