heard this for the first time this afternoon. was warning people about straw purchases with the tag line: dont lie for the other guy. thought it was pretty funny.

Yea, the part that gets me...straw purchases do not represent ALL of the STOLEN firearms that are used in crimes. Easy to make a law, harder to catch REAL bad guys.

Sorry, the FACTS are that the ATF partnered up with the NSSF back in 2000 when this campaign first started. So, he was correct and Cappy is also correct that SOME tax dollars along with private funds from the NSSF are used for this.

sorry, they did mention the NSSF but the ending was this was brought to you by the BATF blah blah partnered with so i assumed BATF was the main on this.

I've heard two versions of this commercial. The first (which I heard first, and only heard once) mentioned both the ATF and NSSF, and the second (which I hear multiple times a day) mentioned only the NSSF.
