Davidson's Gallery of Guns / Gun Genie... Trusted?

    Hi guys,
I am looking at buying a new Colt Government model, and I noticed that through Davidson's Gun Genie I can get one sent to my nearby shop for a decent price. Have any of you used this system before? Is it trustworthy?
    Thanks,
    Nic

I bought from them recently. Got a handgun shipped the next day. It was shipped overnight, however, my dealer couldn't "find" the gun. When I told them that it was delivered and signed for, they just told me to call back. Four days after it was delivered, it magically appeared at the gun shop. Nice.

I would definitely use Davidson's again though. This problem was of the dealer. They (Davidson's) are quick and have great customer service (I called them about my problem and they responded quickly and told me who to talk to specifically). They are definitely trustworthy in my book, plus I hear their Lifetime replacement warranty is top-notch!

I've bought through Davidson's before with no issues.

The dealer sets his profit margin upfront so you will see different prices through different dealers. I wasn't charged any "extra" transfer fees, just the normal DROS.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I bought my XD through them a year ago and had no problems. It went so well that I bought my Colt on Davidson's last night.

The # in stock was 19 last night; now it's 15! Get it while you can!
Well let me tell you, son, war isn't hell. War is mall. Shopping mall.

I had good dealings as well. Bought my Ruger Hunter at a great price and had it sent to Ade's.

Very convenient and know exactly what you are going to pay is also nice. Also being able to see how many they have helps.

It's as reliable and trustworthy as your FFL.
The thing with firearms is that they are not like any other consumer product, simple ownership of one carries a lot of responsibility.

Some idiots are too busy knowing it all to ever learn anything

Basically it is your FFL. Davidsons is a distributor. I buy my products from them and resale it to you. The convenience of the gun genie is that if my customer sees something I don't normally carry. They can order it right there and have it shipped to me. so basically it is just a direct line to my distributor.

Thanks for the info, guys. I will probably go ahead and use it... the convenience factor is definitely a plus.

Check more than one store near you. Each store determines what markup they want; I've found $50-$75 difference between stores that are just a few miles away from each other. If you're in OC, Ade's seems to have good prices.

Also, watch out for significant price differences. I know Sharpshooters does not add the DROS fee to their price. Just an FYI.

I ordered my first pistols through Davidsons. The transactions were painless, but my FFL said he could get better pricing through other distributors. So it's worth getting a quote from your FFL before ordering through Davidsons.

The retailer sets the price you pay on Davidson's Gun Genie. So, there is never any questions as to what the gun costs. I love this service provided by Davidson's. It allows me to use their HUGE inventory as my virtual showroom. The customer orders, pays a deposit, the gun is sent and I pick up the balance owed from the buyer. Great system.

I even give a couple of percentage points discount for ordering online like this. It save me from laying out my cash for inventory that may just sit on the shelf unsold.

Worked like a charm for me. Check the online pricing carefully, some don't include the dros fee in the charges shown on line. My local guy does, which is super.

I got my shotgun from them. Good place to find junk and compare prices
