Is it time to stock up???

Ever since we saw the U.S. leaning towards Obama in the polls, it was being said that we need to stock up on firearms, ammo, parts, supplies, etc. in the cae of another ban.

Would you guys seriously recommend this? I highly doubt that Obama's main concern (at least at this point) is raping our 2nd ammendment but should I be cleaning out the gun stores just in case?
Will the things we purchase/obtain now be safe down the line in the case of another ban?

Which brings me to my main question...

My main concern is the handguns that belonged to my recently deceased grandfather. Should I immediately claim them by having a intrafamilial transfer done before its too late?

Your response only regards the prices which isn't really my concern as of now nor was it the reason for my question. Do you foresee a necessity for their actions? Is it a "get 'em while they last" scenario?

You should go on believing that the most leftist Senator, a man steeped in marxist associations, with a VP-Elect who himself has written some egregious anti-gun legislation, with a Congress overrun with the venal likes of Pelosi and Reid are going to absolutely nothing against your access to firearms and related items after 15yrs of constant effort, now that they control all the Legislative and Oval office power required to do so.

You definitely shouldn't go out and compete for limited resources with folks who have some clue about history and socialist trends and goals in America, folks who've seen it happen all before and know the signs for what they are.

to answer your question, no, i dont see a need to run right out and buy. prices seem to have spiked recently anyway. do i see bans coming? yes, but not tomorrow. personally, i am going to wait 45-60 days, then resume picking up good deals.

Thats a good thought. I think any "black rifle" type or variant would be the first to go on the black list because they "look scary".

People hoard because they're... a. uncertain of future availability, b. fud'ed-out by dealers' predictions of doom & gloom, and c. because they have correctly interpredted the intentions re: firearms of our new President; it's all synergistic.

Check the recent thread in the rifle forum as to what your sympathetic dealers' are doing to oll lower pricing as a result of last night's election. So much for dealers helping shooters.

You can buy now when the prices are higher, or play the odds and hope for prices to go down later.

For the OP, I'd do the pistol transfers NOW.

To everyone else, get to know a local 'kitchen table' ffl or 2. Order the stuff from out of state. I've not seen any price increases up to now, e.g. http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/L...wer_Parts.html. If a CA storefront dealer is asking more, I'd find another dealer. Simple.

What we're seeing now is similar to just before the Brady ban, and the Y2K stuff.

1. You should have been stocking up just because you don't know when someone will come and shut the party down.

2. There are Dealers out there that are not price gouging, but a Dealer is only 1/2 of the equation. You also have the Manufacturer, Distributor, etc...

I just bought a bunch of mags today for several of my rifles for what they were priced at last week. The retailers I dealt with did not gouge.
