Little known fact, Fred Rogers was a combat vet, was part of the Battle of Iwo Jima. Captain Kangaroo too. Proof, ear can do weird things to people.

CPT Kangaroo was a USMC vet but not a combat vet.

"Bob Keeshan, later famous as television's "Captain Kangaroo," also enlisted in the U.S. Marines, but he did so too late to see any action during World War II. Keeshan was born on 27 June 1927 and enlisted two weeks before his 18th birthday, several months after the fighting at Iwo Jima. In a 1997 interview, Keeshan explained that he "enlisted in the U.S. Marines but saw no combat" because he signed up "just before we dropped the atom bomb."

Fred Rogers didn't serve at all:

"Not only did Fred Rogers never serve in the military, there are no gaps in his career when he could conceivably have done so. He went straight into college after high school, he moved directly into TV work after graduating college, and his breaks from television work were devoted to attending the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (he was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1963) and the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Child Development. Moreover, Fred Rogers was born in 1928 and was therefore far too old to have been a draftee during the period of America's military involvement in the Vietnam ground war (1965-72) and too established in his career at that point to have run off to enlist.

If you actually watched all "29" seconds of that vid, you don't deserve your time back, bro.

It's took 2-3 seconds before I was trying to close the tab.
