    Firearms Safety Course

Last week I went to a FFL to transfer a 1917 GEW 98. The clerk asked me for my FSC card. I replied "what is a FSC card? Anyhow, making a long story short, I was told that it's a new law, and I need it for the transfer. Well it was off to Turner's, and after being $25.00 poorer, I have my FSC card. I love the Republik Of Kalifornia!

Why would you go to Turner's instead of just taking the test at the FFL you were already at?

I think the C is for "certificate", not "course". You're not required to take a course or even read anything, as you know. As long as someone isn't an idiot they can just take the 5 minute test and be done with it. The fact that they charge money for it is BS though, I couldn't agree more.

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Same here when I went to PPT some firearms. I'm just really upset that I was going for time when taking the test, took it in 4 minutes and missed one. Seriously? I guess that's what I get for rushing.

I guess that's another good reason I walked away from a decent price on an off-roster, consignment pistol at least weekend's Crossroads. There's zero excuse for poor internet connections at permanent, established convention halls such as the Del Mar fairgrounds. I had outstanding LTE cell coverage there too, so even an inexpensive cell modem or a tethered cellphone should have provided decent connectivity.

You should hang out here at least a bit more often.

You've been here since 2010, 4 iTrader, and your awareness, attention to gun legisltation and your input could have helped when many were vocalizing opinion on the matter as it was going through the bill process.

I hope you at least vote - do you even vote, bro?

Oh well... apathy by California gun owners strikes again.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

exactly. they need to have an FSC instructor on duty to be able to do the FSD, so why couldn't he also issue the FSC as well?

While I agree, you have to understand that some gun owners are just hobbyists, they don't devote all their free time to keeping current with all the gun news. Doesn't make him a bad guy, just means he's got other things going on.

of topic, maybe. Do you need a FSC to sell a gun? If so, the state really gets you both ways don't they.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.
