    FFL Transfer - What if?

Just bought a gun from a private party. I paid in full, what would happen if the gun was stolen?

After the DROS has started, is there any way for the seller to pick up the firearm from the store?

If the firearm is stolen at the shop, I believe the store's insurance policy will cover it.

Correct me if im wrong but I think he ment if the a PTP transfer was started and the check on the firearm found out that the firearm was stolen before the 10 day wait was over. Not if the firearm was stolen while in the FFL's custody.

Was this the situation you ment ?

All you gotta do is call the local cop shop w/the serial # from a payphone, they'll tell you in 10 seconds if its stolen.

          My story:

I just inherited some property from my departed grandfather. He was an avid firearms collector and I want to be SAFE and SURE that nothing is illegal or stolen before I take possession, can you please run this # for me?

Pretty simple, they do it for me w/no hassles. I still use a payphone tho hahaha.
