    UOC on dates?

this thread on THR(http://www.thehighroad.us/showthread.php?t=400257) got me thinking. it kinda peels into date carrying a bit etc, but obviously lots of freestaters there with ccw.

I was curious about opinions on uoc on dates, not like just taking ur girlfriend out etc but first dates and all that. I just got single a little over a week ago so ive been on a few dates recently, but havent carried....but i want to.(and just to clear things up, uoc in restaurant that serves alcohol is fine here correct?)

              UOC is to draw attention

Doing so while dating will send mixed messages to your date.

                True that haha.

I'll probably wait until later. Not that I have a whole bunch of experience with it, being that I have only dated 2 women in my life, but I can imagine the consequences....

well im going to start open carrying most of the time(except work...and im a security guard lol) starting today so chances are the next girl i go on a date with, i will have met while ocing. so maybe that will be enough to test her acceptance.

ive always mentioned guns on a first date and not a single girl has said anything but "oh guns are cool take me shooting!" and of course later they finally tell the truth that they hate guns and and then proceed to not listen to anything i say in response lol. so maybe ill leave it off for first date if shes already seen me wearing it. now to get on google earth and measure distances from schools....

ah crap i cant even go to blockbuster cause the canyon highschool tennis courts r only 400 feet across the street booo.

For the first few dates anyway, I'd carry only the concealed weapon that you've always had on you, since Day 1.

Let her get used to that one first, addicted even, then she'll be a lot more receptive to all of the other crazy aspects of your personality.

If you open carry on a first date, there won't be a second one, especially in California. You will just be "that weird gun guy" to all of her friends and forgotten except when she has a bad date and her friends say "not worse than the gun guy".

If you take some time and not trot out all of your guns and shove them in her face 4 seconds after meeting her, you stand a better chance of converting her if she is anti. And, if things don't work out, you won't be crazy to all of her friends and can still date them if you want.

                          Short version, BAD IDEA!

Does the person you're going on a 1st date with know you? If you pick up a blind date with iron on your hip, she'll think you're going to eat her and spend the whole date looking for an exit. At least I would if I were a girl, and I love guns.

If you're going on a first date with the hot chick from the office who you've been flirting with for a month and a half, go for it. She should know that you're (relatively) stable, sane, and responsible.

Think of it this way. Would you pick up a hitchhiker with a knife belt, a bloody apron and a gas can? He's probably a legitimate butcher who ran out of gas, but do you risk it? You OCing are probably a responsible citizen exercising your rights, but do you expect a stranger to risk being alone with you?
