    Mike Raahauge Shooting Enterprises

We had a vendor inquiry in to participate in the show. We were just informed the family has decided not to hold the show this year. No other explanation given, or required but really weird given the fact that with CCW's being issued there are more people interested in seeing the manufactures show their stuff.

What makes this even stranger is there is a full page ad touting the show in Western Shooting Journal.

    Any insight on reasons?

Probably have outside life issues or other interests.

Never cut and dry. If they choose not to that's their business choice. Just let it be and move on. Look for another venue.

Maybe a new location/business who's interested in holding it.

It was on their web site a couple of months ago that it was being held, but now it says they'll be back in 2016. I seem to recall they skipped a year a few years ago too. It's got to be a lot of work putting that on.

just called and checked with them..

there will NOT be a sports shooting fair this year, they choose to not have it this year but WILL have it next year....

          total bummer..

also not cool that they are not putting it out there about cancellation so folks that attend can know now,no face book posting and just a confusing 2016 on there web page

It was canceled once during one of the gouge/panic times because they could not secure enough ammo for the event. I dislike the event anyhow. Another screw up they do is having it same weekend as the Costa Mesa crossroads show.

It's sad any time an event like this is cancelled. This event was prime time for exposing kids to the shooting sports in a fun and positive way. Whether you personally like the event or not, the good that it does is undeniable.

I read the rep show was not being held this year. Its regretable as the show is always fun and informative.
Years past featured such great shooters as Todd Jarret,Rob Leathem and other champion competitors.
Todd Jarret actually gave the best pistol instruction Ive ever witnessed. He further was helping shooters at the Para Booth where he personally was working.

I along with every "gun culture " person will miss this event . Hopefully 2016 will go on as scheduled.

Completely agree. It's a great introduction to firearms for those that aren't on calguns and don't have friends with tons of toys.

Also were else can you shoot an anti aircraft gun, gattling gun and moving robot targets. The Turners deals are usually decent there as well.

IIRC it was a problem with the estate that he inherited which included the firearms. The story goes no one realized the repercussions and since he was prohibited law enforcement got involved. Could be wrong.

                        Thanks OP!

First they cancelled the yearly GSSF event and now this? Totally sucks. I wonder what is going on there after Mike passed.

If you want to know why it is being cancelled you should talk to Turners. They, and Legacy Sports, are the one's who have paid for the whole thing for the last several years.

As far as the GSSF match being cancelled you should take a hard look at Ron Jung of Steel Madness, he was the one who hosted the Glock deal. Raahauges just rented them the range.

No, it was more than that. Son was working in the business and because of his felon status, was supposed to be walled off from handling firearms and ammunition. This was all well and fine until a former employee accused the son of handling firearms and ammunition in the business. Of course, CA DOJ was more than happy to get involved and did arrest him. I don't profess to know the true facts either way, but those were the allegations.

Understand that Raahague's is and always will be a target for antis due to its prominent location in the middle of urban SoCal, as well as the fact that it leases land from a government entity.

Lets see you bash the Costa Mesa gunshow at every opportunity,as being too expensive for parking, lunch, beer, admission prices . You've further maligned every vendor at this show for not having items you want at a price you consider fair or selling items you personally disapprove of.

Now you state "you dislike the shooting fair" . Is there is anything regarding shooting, guns or RKBA that meets with your approval ?

I mean you tell me people to avoid the OC gun show and now you complain about the OC gun show being held at the same time as the shooting fair, which you also dislike. I don't understand your perspective, please elaborate .
