    Quick question on PPT

I am buying a rifle from a cal gunner down in Irvine tomorrow and doing the PPT at a local gun store. I live a little over an hour away from Irvine and once the PPT is done I know that I have to come back in 10 days and pick up the rifle from there.

Now my question is, can I ask the gun store if they can ship it to a store closer to me so I can avoid another trip out to Irvine? Or do I have to pick up the gun from the same store the PPT is done?

    Thanks guys and gals!

You'll probably have to DROS again at the store you have it shipped to, and wait another 10 days, since they haven't completed the transfer to you yet until you pick it up. Might try asking this in the FFL forum.

For a one hour commute (times four, I know) I think you'll find it easier to just use the one shop.

You can send him the money and he could ship it to your prefered ffl.

Same store is required by PC governing PPT.
          28050.

          (a) A person shall complete any sale, loan, or transfer of a firearm through a person licensed pursuant to Sections 26700 to 26915, inclusive, in accordance with this chapter in order to comply with Section 27545.
          (b) The seller or transferor or the person loaning the firearm shall deliver the firearm to the dealer who shall retain possession of that firearm.
          (c) The dealer shall then deliver the firearm to the purchaser or transferee or the person being loaned the firearm, if it is not prohibited, in accordance with Section 27540.
"The dealer" - just one of them.

You can arrange shipment from one FFL to another, so you don't drive even once, but then it is NOT a PPT and the fees probably increase, as well as incurring the shipping costs.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
