safe moisture problem

Hey guys i have a liberty revolution 18, ita not a big safe but it works for my needs. I put every gun in a gun sock and also use desicants. The problem is my desicants aren't lasting long at all and im worried.

I started out with one of the stackon ones the you plug in to dry it out. At first it lasted about 2 months but now it doesnt make it past 3 weeks. I recently bought a 750g steel container type from turners.

It last about a month or less. Should i be worried? It doesnt make sense that i am getting that much moisture but i am still new to owning a safe. I havent gone the goldenrod route because i would have to drill out the back i believe and that worries me. So what do you guys think, is this something to worry about? Should i buy another 750g desicant?

Well, I use a goldenrod and a re-chargeable Eva-Dry and it still needs recharging every few weeks.

That seems kind of fast for desiccant.
Are you sure there's not a small hole in the back already for electrical?
I use a Goldenrod in the bottom of the safe with a 1 pound package of desiccant on the top. It lasts about six months.
If you can't have electrical then think about using two containers of desiccant and rotate them until you know one is good in the safe when the other is getting recharged.
Where is all this moisture coming from?

I put two plugin ones and a goldenrod and my plugins lasted about 1 week.

Like someone else already said, check and see if you have a hole in back already.

You pick up a humidity meter for $20 give or take. They even have some where the reader sits on the outside of your safe so you can always tell what's going on inside. Anyway, this will help you understand what is really going on and whether you should be worried.

As for a second can, I wouldn't think that you need to run two cans at once but a second can would minimize how often you have to heat up the oven.

As long as your humidity level is under 65% or so, you should not have any corrosion problem. Gun safe humidity sensor made by Eva-Dry set their warning at 67%.

Okay i have no rust and they are doing their job i was just kinda suprised as the safe is fairly small
