    BLM Shooting

I was hoping someone could PM me some spots East of the 56 in San Diego to shoot. I am looking for an area to setup IDPA targets and shoot pistol. I plan on bringing some drop cloths to catch most of my shells and hauling out all of my trash and don't mind picking up a little extra from the people before. I realize that stupid people are the ones getting the BLM land closed down and I can assure you I am not one of them.
    Thank you in advance,
    Scott

Welcome to Calguns. Stick around for a while and let us get to know you. As you are aware, people mess up BLM land more often than not when people share their shooting locations online. Although you assure us that you won't leave trash, oddly enough it always happens.

I have a feeling that responsible shooters learn of spots, take their more "easy-going" (read: lazy) friends out there to shoot. And the lazy friends now know the spot and trash it with their other lazy friends. That's why if you have a honey-hole, sometimes it's best to keep quiet. If you do want to learn of spots, look for range cleanups in the area and usually people will talk during or after the cleanup about other spots. Anyways, welcome to Calguns.
If you are wondering if you can get a LTC in Riverside County: THE ANSWER IS YES!

I'd call the BLM office and ask them......I know places but I won't tell its too close to where I deer & pig hunt

What's the difference? Good, legal shooting spots around here are few and far between.

Just take a trip out to BLM and look for anywhere that looks like a giant dumping ground with trash strewn about everywhere and then you've found a typical BLM shooting spot.

I appreciate your honesty. Never thought about it, but it makes sense. I was looking at the maps and was wondering can I shoot anywhere on BLM land? Obviously not near roads, trails, structures, but if the map says BLM land can I pull off the road hike in and start shooting targets will a hillside back stop?

As a general rule BLM land is open to target shooting. However, county ordinances apply so look into those and it's best to call the BLM office and confirm that the spot you want to use is actually BLM and hasn't changed hands since the map was published.
