Dick's Sporting Goods in Fremont

Has anyone checked out the Dick's Sporting Goods in Fremont? The one at Auto Mall area.

Went in for the first time today, they have a nice rack displaying various shotguns and rifles. Mostly cheap stuff except for a Benelli Supersport, a couple of Benelli ETHOS and 1 Beretta A400.

Quite a bit of shotgun ammo available, but prices are only so-so, not expensive but no bargain either. But if you're in a hurry to get some turkey loads, they do have a nice collection, including the Winchester Longbeard XR. Quite a bit of steel shots available too.

I'm still amazed at how many gun owners don't care about their rights. Dick's should be avoided by anyone who believes in the right to keep and bear arms. After their reaction to the shooting in Newtown, shopping at Dick's is like sending a contribution to Diane Feinstein and all of the other people who would love to take away our guns.

I'm not in Fremont so I don't know which gun stores are good. I did see Anni's Guns on the web. They look like a nice place to spend your money. I'm sure their are others on Calguns who can suggest other good places to shop for guns in the Fremont area. Please don't give Dick's any of your money.

Interesting, I didn't know that. They have semi-auto shotguns in the store at Fremont though.

Out of respect for the victims and their families, during this time of national mourning we have removed all guns from sale and from display in our store nearest to Newtown and suspended the sale of modern sporting rifles in all of our stores chainwide.

We continue to extend our deepest sympathies to those affected by this terrible tragedy.

They do have a spin off store called "Field and Stream" that does carry ar15 type rifles.

I heard from a Dick' s employee that they are going to start selling handguns again.

I refuse to shop at a store named after genitalia. That, and they have outrageously high prices.

The other problem with Dick's, in many of their stores, you have to give them a DL just to see a gun.

I have given up on most chain sporting goods stores for my firearm purchases. I have found a great LGS with top notch customer service and competitive pricing. If they do not have what I want, they order it.

I have purchased a few more than I had anticipated and am a bit poorer. I love my collection though.

Yup. They joined my ban list along with CTD. It frustrates me they can walk all over us but we'll keep going right back as long as the price is right.

I try to stay away from Dick's as much as possible. I did give them some money a few weeks ago though. Hard not to when they had 525 round bricks of Remington golden bullets for $24.99. I got 3 boxes over the course of a week. I know it's not the greatest ammo, but they had it in stock for a good price. I hadn't seen a brick of .22 in months so I jumped on it.
