    long gun permit

so last year i took the pistol test and now this year i had to take almost the same test to buy a rifle . What BS. the money will probably go to rehab for a gang banger convicted for having a full auto AK. 25 bucks down the drain. we all know it is only a money maker for the state, nothing more.

If you had a current hunting license you would not have needed fsc.

      It's not a permit.
Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison

The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms. -- Samuel Adams, Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 86-87 (Pearce and Hale, eds., Boston, 1850)

Guide is 50 pages long for a 30 question test.
May read it just to see how much "stuff" is in it.

The "card" is the physical manifestation of the state-granted legal permission (or license) to buy and possess firearms.

Like the other "card" in my wallet that has by photo and birthrate on it.

The guide is actually very good. Mostly re-hashed (and naturally uncredited) NRA stuff. I recommend it to first-time shooters.

Most people can pass the test without even reading the guide.

This, might as well get a hunting license to thumb your nose at the tax. Also, the hunting license money will go toward hunting land or wherever it goes to support hunting instead of down the drain.

It's a bunch of BS if you ask me!

More fees, more hoops, more crap to exercise our constitutional rights.

Apply the same crap to any other right, and the left leaning ******** would freak out.
                    Sorry, not sorry.

The FSC is not a license to purchase or own any firearm. It is only one of many requirements. Your Driver's License is a license to drive. There is no requirement to produce other forms of ID or get the state's permission each time you drive. However, there are all sorts of other requirements that you need to meet each time you purchase a firearm.

It is indistinguishable, to me, from a license to purchase a firearm. Perhaps you have a different definition of license in mind.

                          yup, it sucks.

I knew people that gave CADOJ $75 in 10-days over all of this.

December 28, 2014, $25 for DROS and $25 for new HSC card (wanted that last SSE) since you can't start a handgun DROS without a valid HSC card. went ahead and tossed on a shotgun on the DROS since it was a "free DROS".

January 8, 2015, time to pickup. oops, have to have a valid FSC to pick up that shotgun, thats another $25.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

A license means that you have permission to do something. A FSC is just one part of the formula required for you to ASK permission to the state to buy another firearm. If it was a "license", you wouldn't have to wait for the state to approve each and every transfer.
