    Need a Gunsmith near Temecula

Looking to fix an old H & R Model 999 Sportsman .22LR Top Break Revolver. A new cylinder latch needs to be installed and I've already broke 2 of them trying to fit. I originally went to Faith Armory and was told by the gunsmith that they don't make the parts anymore or something crazy. Shootist uses the same gunsmith or so I was told, so I can't go there. Some of these fixes are drop in and some are just a pain. Anyone that knows of a gunsmith near Temecula that would be willing to fix. Part is only 4.00. It's just a fitting issue and time.......

Here is a link to the part that needs to be installed.

Here is a assembly drawing of the Revolver part that needs to be installed is #9 in the diagram.

    Thanks

I believe West Coast Ammo offers a lot of gunsmith services. I saw a few guys there polishing triggers behind the counter not too long ago and I know they used to do AK build classes (meaning they have the tools and know the platform really well)

No idea if they will be familiar with top break revolvers though, sorry. You could try calling and asking

I walked in to West Coast the other day and one of the guys behind the counter was using a dremel to cut off the delta ring from an AR instead of using a barrel nut wrench to remove it (so they could install a hand guard).

If that is their idea of "gunsmithing", I'd proceed with caution.

That is common on some installs. Not a big deal if you have a little mechanical skill. Other wise its driving pins out of the sight holding it to the barrel.

Yep! standard procedure in armor's school for certain applications. Gets officers guns back on the thin blue line without need to remove front sight and re zero.

+1. Ask for Bill. He has worked on a couple of my guns. Great guy. Great work.
