NAACP leader confronts hate with confidence

Spokane police are investigating a package of racist, threatening literature sent last week to the head of Spokane’s chapter of the NAACP. The incident has left Rachel Dolezal, the new president of Spokane’s NAACP, concerned for the safety of herself and her 13-year-old son. She’s keeping a revolver handy and has decided to home-school her son; she’s worried about the way the incident might affect those around her – from the organization she leads to her students at Eastern Washington University. But Dolezal, an energetic, forceful voice, insists the threats will not make her pipe down.

She needs a stern talking-to from Jesse and Al.

Some of these voices of accommodation have taken to using the phrase “race-baiting” lately, as a way of dismissing such concerns.
Of course she isn't talking about the cries of "kill whitey" from the peaceful(?) protesters and how the Black Community hasn't disavowed such?

Her other actions concerning the Shorty Belton incident show that she clearly feels only white people can be racists.

Weird, I've seen a lot of protest videos, even have a friend from the Army that's gone full "nation of Islam" militant black nationalist and I've never even heard him say "kill whitey."

In the end I don't think it is fair to expect civil rights advocates to take responsibility for ignorant bigots any more than it is my responsibility to do so.

          I don't know about that.
Yes, I agree that you as an individual are not responsible for ignorant bigots who are the the same race as you are, but as she is spokesperson for an organization that represents a specific demographic I think it would be incumbent upon her to speak out against those people whom she does not wish to represent her or her group.

Posing with an M1 carbine like Malcom X would of made a better statement.

The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!
