Just got off the phone with them and they said the turn around time is a minimum of 18 weeks before he even touches my gun. Everything I've read about Alan is great, but is it worth the wait? I live in OC and wouldn't mind driving to nearby counties for great 1911 work.

I only asked for a trigger job and to cerakote the slide. He told me that it'd be at least 18 weeks before he even touches my gun. Then I asked him if I could put a deposit down and send in my gun when he's ready and he told me "out of sight out of mind" so basically he'll forget about it if it's not there sitting for 4 months. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. I'd love for him to work on my gun, but 4-5 months without it is a long time for me. I'm trying to research people around here with the kind of reputation Alan has but I'm coming up short.Comment

Alan does great work, the wait time is agonizing but it comes with the territory I guess. I dropped off a pair of Norinco 1911s for various part installs and repairs. I think total time was 2-3 months? This was back in 2012/13.Comment
