FedEx, UPS won't ship Ghost Gunner mill

Editor’s note: This story has been updated with UPS’s statement on its refusal to ship digital milling machines used to create firearms. The new generation of “maker” tools like 3-D printers and milling machines promises to let anyone make virtually anything—from prosthetic limbs to firearms—in the privacy and convenience of his or her own home. \[…\]

You can at the idiocy of these carriers, or you can at some of the misstatements in the article. But either way, a is in order.

Another reason claiming stuff is idiotic. Just insure, pack and ship. Don't say a word.

When it's lost and you lied, I understand. But what's the point if no one will ship items due to anti policies.

Exactly. Or just say it's a power tool - which it is. Problem solved.

Legal CYA mode for the large carriers.

A bit off topic, but I wonder what the quality of the machine work is, with this relatively inexpensive machine?

My same thought. Call it a power tool, cnc machine, milling machine or whatever but don't push the envelope. If DD did this for publicity, it seems rather risky. Money tied up on a product in a warehouse in Texas that can't be shipped seems like a sure fire business failure plan. Still, even if DD is pushing the envelope, I still hate that we have let our freedoms slip away and liberal companies such as UPS, FedEx, etc take over the country.

Truck Freight? More expensive but cheaper than driving to Texas.

I'm sure we would love their business.

FedEx, UPS Say They Won't Ship 'Ghost Gunner' Machines

Stumbled across this and found it interesting.

While the technology now exists for people to 3D print parts and build untraceable “ghost guns” in their own homes, they need to order some of the…
