It won't stop. It may slow, but never stop. It's a lifestyle.

I don't know if the itch stops, but mine is well under control and I have WAY less than you OP.

After I started reloading, it kind of overtook the need to constantly want to buy something new.

I'm just having fun making ammo, keeping my existing guns fueled up, and getting better at shooting with what I already have.

I'm sure as times goes on I may buy/sell things, but I am far from a horder/collector of firearms. I have want I really need, and choose to spend more time enjoying them than worrying about the next one.

A good number at which time you may slow down to just x-mass and holiday purchases can be calculated by the formla below:

Total number of guns = Your age (years) X 2

With the close of SSE and the end of a two year marathon. I'm just plain wore out.
Now I'm stocking up on primers and bullets for the next panic or Kevin's next go at ammo restrictions..

I'm wore out also! Bought way too many longguns in 2013 and continued into 2014 in the once-every-30-day club for pistols. I've made it this far into 2015 without buying a single firearm (doesn't really say much since I couldn't have bought one until 1/30 as I picked up a last minute SSE).

If one of your shotgun is setup for bird or clay shooting, I'll recommend getting into a clay shooting sport like trap, skeet, sporting clay or 5 stand. It'll force you to focus on the basics of shotgun shooting (gun mount, swing and lead etc) and rewards the use of the same shotgun all the time because it becomes more and more familiar. Which translates to better scores.

I've been debating doing a guide for new people based on the perspective of myself (pretty successful finance guy). Is this something people would be interested in? I can start working on it this weekend if so (it would be about tackling our hobby from the financial perspective).

I'm out of room in my safe.

I have a Glock 26 in 10 day jail right now. I should be able to squeeze that in there.

It is not a matter of quiting it is a matter of looking for that special deal, stocking up on ammo or getting into reloading.

It never ends. Even when you think you have everything on " the list " of wants, a good price on a really nice gun pops up and you buy it. I have a bad habbit of keeping just enough cash on me just incase a friend calls and wants to sell me something or I Just happen to be driveing by a gun store and stop in.

Ammo is another issue I have. I get the coupon emails from several sites, and when I see something I want, its all over at that point. Then when the girl looks at the credit card, I have to do my best to justify it.

Hobbies of all kinds will cost you $$$ and there really is no stopping point since there is allways someting new introduced that makes you say " I Want That ".
