I will second this opinion on ADE. This is an outfit to stay clear of.... The all black tacticool mall ninja outfits should be your first clue....

There is plenty of stuff on the interweb regarding ADE and Bill Beasley. They are the laughing stock of the gun community. Bunch of frauds. Ronin is right, one of the first clues of a chump is ninja BDU uniforms. If that doesn't convince you should watch their Benny Hill video which unfortunately may have been taken down but the snippets can be found here:

Look up Ramzar on this site and check out all posts he started in the training subsection. He probably has done the most training here than anyone else on this board. He has even trained with ADE before he knew better. He has sought out just about every legit trainer in SoCal and has excellent write ups.

Heres a BIG CLUE regarding ADE, on their website: They use the same techniques as the "SEALS" and "SWAT TEAMS", these two words are red flags (aka BullSpit)

"The Department of Homeland Security rated us the number one trainers in the world"

DHS rates trainers ? When did this happen ? Number one in the WORLD !!!???

Holy Sheeit -- and I thought falcon ops were douchey

I feel sorry for anyone that ever gave these guys money.

Red flag # 2 ( after the "black is the new black" mall ninja outfits) is the lack information on ANY of the instructors credentials/ background to be found on either of the above listed schools websites. Any school that does not disclose UP FRONT the training and background of the instructors who will be teaching you is to be avoided by the plague. Its because they have no real creds and are just a bunch of yahoo's who mimic what they see on YouTube after buying all the "tacticool" gear ( black is the new black...lol).

Nailed it right on the head. It's unfortunate that the training industry is full of quacks much like the martial arts industry. If you don't know anything it's easy to be fooled with secret squirrel moves that give you the ultimate death blow with your pinky. Of course when you ask to demonstrate it they give some bs like this only works in a real fight so I can't show you...

I won't tell the op who to train with but I'll tell you who you should avoid, or at least who you should do some serious research and background checking, ADE is one. Civilian Arms Training (CAT) or any other clowns that teach Center Axis Relock garbage is another.

As for Falcon any school that has a Chris Costa impersonator and cool guy Call signs like Hollywood and Voodoo gots to be legit right?

Hey, hey....I guess I should give them some credit, thanks to that unfortunate fact of life noted most famously by PT Barnum, they are "living their dream".

Check out Civilian Arms Training. I will be taking their level 2 classes next month at Burro Canyon. The value is outstanding.

After looking at both FTA and Aegis, I think I like Aegis best. Their prices are slightly better from what I am seeing and I actually think they are a shorter drive away from me too. That helicopter carbine class looks awesome lol

But more importantly, Aegis does a lot of classes on weekdays which is the real big winner in my book. Once I get some more money in the piggybank Ill definitely be scheduling something and at this point it looks like Aegis will be getting my money

Anybody know if FTA or Aegis offer veteran discounts?

                              That's another huge red flag.
If they don't have the basic NRA rifle/pistol/shotgun instructor certs, then don't bother.
Those certs need to be renewed like every two years, so make sure they are current and not from 15 years ago.
Beware of the guys that only want you to use their technique, and don't show you other techniques, which might be (probably are) better.

Also try to avoid the guys that teach you to slap the magazine into the gun so hard that it releases the slide stop, and makes the slide go forward, loading a round (hopefully).
Its a BS technique, that isn't any quicker (can be slower), and can damage the gun.

Ask them. Also, if you buy a yearly membership you get 50% off on their intro classes (pistol, carbine, shotgun 1) for yourself or a referral and 25% off on the rest of their classes. So, if one takes more than a few classes it pays off.
