That sounds reasonable on the part of the manufacturer I am sorry to say.

You bought an Arsenal, it's your fault for supporting a company that use to threaten to cut off any distributor or dealer caught selling any of their products to a California resident. They never apologized for this. They finally saw that they were loosing a lot of revenue and quietly came out with their own mag proprietary mag lock and started selling to California but, again, they never admitted their earlier ignorance or apologized for their underhanded actions and threats that kept many legal firearms out of the hands of California gun owners. They (and anyone who supports them) can go F themselves.

Sorry, but that's my take on it.

        Last Arsenal

Thanks for the feedback. After this experience, never again, this will be my last Arsenal purchase.

shoulda gotten a side folder instead.

Ive never believed the hype about Arsenals. If I am going to spend money on a 'fancy' AK Ill buy a Krebs. If I want a basic AK Ill buy a Saiga, VEPR, Yugo or WASR. Arsenal charges almost Krebs prices for... basically a Yugo with a nice paint job.

Looks like Arsenal goes onto the "never do business with list" (along with CheaperThanDirt, Buds, AtlanticFirearms).

While I'm far too cheap to buy a Krebs, his products are great and he and his wife are really good people. I had the pleasure of meeting them at SHOT 2011 or 2012. I was just sitting talking with disarmedmarksman when we started talking to this nice lady sitting next to us. He husband showed up a few minutes later and disarmedmarksman introduced me to both of them. He thought I knew who Mrs. Krebs was at first.

Remember they can 'claim' the warranty is void but in general they can't actually void the warranty by you adding CA compliance parts.

This is part of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

One of the key features is the following....

Warrantors cannot require that only branded parts be used with the product in order to retain the warrant.
This was part of the issue about using non-OEM repair or service parts on cars. The use of non-OEM parts does NOT automatically void the warranty. The manufacturer has to establish that the non-OEM part caused or contributed to the failure.

If all you are talking about is a maglock then they would be hard pressed to establish that a mag lock contributed at all to the failure of a buttstock. I don't know what you mean when you say PVC. But they have to establish that the CA modifications contributed to the failure to void the warranty for that part. If they cannot then they cannot void the warranty.

Yugo actually have better finish and machining than Arsenal.

probably something like this, but instead of a copper sleeve, he used PVC.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Ya I was lucky enough to score a Krebs KV-13 last year with the folding stock. Because of that I had to leave it out of state but it was an amazing gun even for an AK. It was already zeroed for 100 yards when I first shot it lol

Ouch! Have always heard Arsenal never liked CA but never knew the real reason why.

Now whats wrong with Atlantic? If its about not shipping/blocking mags then I've heard that already multiple times.
