      beep_gun,

Sorry to see that. As in both of our MidwayUSA experiences, a simple piece of tape would have fixed everything!

Mine came in that tube, within a cardboard tube, in a cardboard box.

I had a gas tube in the box as well

Any time I order a group of items that includes boxes of dense/heavy items (like ammo or bullets), along with other items that are less dense/heavy, there are problems with movement of items in shipping, because they use standard box sizes that don't always fit the items, and boxes with unevenly distributed weight cause problems for those handling them.

This applies to pretty much every mail order business, ever.

Absent such a situation, I do not remember ever having any problems with packages from Midway.

In general my experience is that the packing of gun related items is really poor for almost any company. I'm a seller of antique glassware, so I suppose I have a different standard. If I shipped that barrel, the plastic tube would get enough bubble wrap for it to fit tightly in a narrow cardboard box. A tip on Midway's shipping charges: always add a cheap item from the "free shipping" heading. Many times you can add a $4 knife or tool, and cut the shipping cost by $7 or $8.
