Saw in the vendors section that they are clearing out inventory and closing at the end of the month.

Kind of odd that they are closing already as they have been open for about 2 years. Then again there are many shops in OC so that may have something to do with it.

Well that sucks. Ive been there a few times and bought some accessories from them. They always seemed helpful. Wonder whats gonna happen to OC Custom coating.

If they started two years ago they opened during the boom. For the last 18 months the gun industry has been struggling. Established retailers could weather the fallout, but it must have been a lot tougher for the new kid on the block, especially starting out in the middle of a boom like that.

Exactly. The black rifle boom is over and there's no more SSE, drastically cutting into sales. That leaves a shop with the same selection of handguns and rifles that every other shop has(unless they want to become a custom builder, or maybe sell high end shotguns or something?). At that point, assuming all of the competition within an hour or so isn't a massive failure in the customer service department, then all you have left to compete with the other businesses is price... which means lowering margins... cutting profit... and if you can't turn a profit there's no point in running a business.

it seemed a lot of their atuff was a bit pricey compared to a lot of others. i have done bussiness with them and i liked them very quiet little place and was
nice to order online and pick up in store.
