    DOJ Delayed on Long Gun

Hello fellow Calgunners, I went to pick up my .22 rifle today at ammo bros and they said that the DOJ has delayed my pickup on my long gun. Now I'm very concerned on why because I work security for the sheriffs department, I have an 832 pc certificate which makes me exempt from the FSC card as I carry a firearm on duty. I have bought many guns both handguns/long guns over the last year and just picked up another .22 rifle I bought last week. I looked up the serial number on the long gun and it doesn't appear to be reported stolen, can someone please help explain why the DOJ would delay me?

    -Thanks

You will have to contact DOJ on Tuesday. They never tell the FFL anything, and the letter you will get will be pretty generic.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll call them first thing on Tuesday.

Who knows why DOJ denies anything. The strangest story I heard while looking at guns at BIG 5. Apparently they had a guy that purchased one rifle and one shotgun when he went to pick them up he was denied on one but not the other!

I guess you really will not know till next week and begin filling out the paper work to get them to tell you why. Then once you get the reason it's the same bssakward California justice system " guilty till you can prove your innocent". Less then a year and I will be stationed in Florida, no more of this stupid Cali bullcrap. I have lived in several states throughout my 15+ years in the military and I have never seen anything like the A.G. DOJ in this state. It's like the A.G. Has their own private state run army in the DOJ. What happened to the time when the legal system of the A.G. was thought of as a shield and not a sword?

They won't tell you anything over the phone and the DOJ BOF has no public office. I tried for months to find out why I was delayed and never got an answer.

Oh man really? So I just have to sit and wait for them to contact me? And did you end up getting your gun back?

They're supposed to mail you something but I never got it. Gin was released after about 4 months of waiting. Got delayed twice more for a week, but since I bought a handgun and it was registered to me I have received no more delays.

Prior to the DOJ getting sued people had been delayed for well over a year. But since the lawsuit they changed the law so that you can only be delayed for 30 days max. At which point they leave it up to the FFL to release the firearm or not. But the feds require another 4473 be filed after 30 days.
