LA FFL's with best fees - need help

    Hi All,

    Need some assistance.

Been looking to pick up a CA roster handgun but local shops have prices that cannot compete with online.

Problem is, the couple of shops I called locally have absurd (to me) fees to receive from an out-of-state FFL - think $135...

Anyone know of a top of mind, friendly LA area FFL with more reasonable fees - like $25-$35 to receive from out of state FFL?

As FYI - I would prefer to support lgs, and have done so for all previous purchases, but when local shops are asking almost $1000 out the door and online I can pick up the same gun for a little over $500, I cannot justify the difference.

    Thanks in advance!

I can vouch for this guy, there are many great FFL's in California but none better than 2AZone.

And do yourself a favor, call Jamie (Baboosh - 2AZone) and ask him what he can sell you the gun for. I guarantee he's not going to be anywhere near double the price of any online dealer.

        OP...this in Spades ..^^^^^^

No one better than 2A Zone. Incredible customer service. Good people. None better.

It's well worth the quick drive across the 210. I know people that drive in from San Diego.

Another vote for 2A Zone, they have made my first (and certainly not last) buying experience a blast.

ACfixer - I am not sure if you read my whole post... I probably should have clarified.

This is a used handgun that my local shop got in on a trade. I know they paid for the trade, but are asking literally the cost of new, sans $50 bucks, i.e. $1000 out the door.

I would support them, and have in the past many times, but this time it's just too much. I asked them to shop for a better deal, add a mark-up and order for me as I am happy to support them and their efforts, but they wouldn't and said to take the used gun in the case or walk.

To me this seemed harsh and I cannot justify the nearly double cost.

But, thank you for the info on Baboosh - think I owe 2A Zone a call!

In the South bay area I have used Sharpshooters in Torrance $75 ($50+ $25 DROS) and I asked the Carson Pawn Shop, they charge $85 ($50 + $35 DROS).

I have used Sharpshooters at least a half dozen times and each transaction was fast and easy. In addition, OC Armory in Laguna charges $125 (conversion + DROS) for double action revolvers converted to single action so that it qualifies for exemption.

The firing pin in alhambra is good. Small shop but reasonable prices.

edit: Looks like we got some great options posted in this thread.

If you are near SharpShooters in Torrance CA. I would check out Boogaloo Tactical. Dauv is a super nice guy and very professional. He does it out of his house and pretty decent pricing.

                          Boogaloo Tactical handgun transfer fees:
$65.00 Dealer fee + State Sales Tax (9%) if applicable +
                          $25.00 DROS fee .
                          Boogaloo Tactical rifle/shotgun transfer fees:
$55.00 Dealer fee + State Sales Tax (9%) if applicable +
                          $25.00 DROS fee .

                            OP,

                            Where are you located?

Aces Pawn shop in West Covina. Member here. Lowest prices, very helpful staff. DROS $25 + $25 transfer fee/gun (when paid in cash). Can't beat that.

Oh, plus standard sales tax on total invoiced items.
