Expected cost to move 600lbs safe 15 miles

Any of you guys know what is a reasonable quote to move an empty 600lbs safe about 15 miles? Pick up from a garage that can be backed into and delivered to a unit via elevator. So far I got $300 and $450. SD county. Thanks

That's pretty cheap. Sac valley was $500 2 years ago to go 18 miles, both single story homes.

rent a uhaul truck for the day and borrow a few friends. Uhaul trucks start at 19.95 plus milage so you might be into it 50 bucks with gas plus a dolly if you dont have one. Can you take the door off too? it makes it easier to move if you can.

Find a local group of jocks and bet them a keg of beer they can't get that safe from one place to the next . . .

                  LOL you guys are funny.

I am considering renting a Uhaul but I don't want to end up crushing myself. Never really moved a safe before. Especially if the truck is with a ramp and not hydraulic lift.

Home Depot will rent you a liftgate pickup for 90minutes...

Try giving Curtis at Boswell Safe a try. He's out of Temecula. I'm not sure if he'll be cheaper but I bought my safe from him and he treated me fair. Plus I'm pretty certain he's a member on these boards.

Rent an appliance dolly and a lift gate truck - $75 to $125 and you don't worry about random people knowing you have a safe and where it is. Add in a 12 pack for a neighbor = good to go.

I would get a pickup and tilt the safe into it. a 600lb safe isn't that heavy for a few guys. My dad and I moved his 800lb safe to my house this way using a trailer and tilting it in. Make sure you have some 2x4's and 4x4's to use to help with leverage if you need. I wouldn't want to take one up stairs again though. Mines 460lbs and I had to use one of those stairmasters to get it up the steps at my old apartment and same thing going back down. That was a bit sketchy.

They have moved and bolted mine down twice in the last 5 years. They are fast and do a great job. They make it look way easier then it really is.

Tommy Gate truck, appliance dolly and an extra body or two. Save a few hundred bucks and buy some ammo or another gun to put in the safe.
