    quick questions on gun transfer

    hey guys/gals,

i'm getting a used gun from a guy i met in another state. when i go to do the registering, is this considered a PTP? or will i have to pay the same as if i bought it from a online retailer (FFL) transfer?

this is my 1st gun purchase and dont really have a clue to this.

before i was considering buying a new one from a online retailer and ammo bros was going to do the FFL transfer for $75 total. is this the same thing?

and also, what does OLL mean?

Its only a PPT (Private Party Transfer) if both of you go to the dealer at the same time, and both are CA residents. If the seller is from another state, it is a regular transfer and the FFL can charge whatever he wants, whether it is shipped or handed to the dealer.

Plus, as a regular transfer, if it is a handgun, it must be on the Roster of "not unsafe" handguns. http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

OLL means Off list Lower. Those are receivers/firearms that are not listed by name as Assualt Weapons.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
