Because CDC, NIH and HHS are so incompetent?

Pandemics run about once in a hundred years and we just had one so a massive waste of another pointless bureaucracy.

Or maybe it's only naturally occurring pandemics and since this was a manufactured virus from a rogue bioweapons program it doesn't count.

Either way there is no need for such an agency. What are they going to do - stockpile masks and respirators?

That’s what government does, looking for work. Notice we have a Department of Defense AND a Department of Homeland Defense? They finally realized the names were too similar and people might question their competence. So they changed it to Department of Homeland Security.

Apparently the Center for Disease Control is not enough to control a pandemic, so we need an office for pandemic response.

I think we should establish a government agency that’s in charge of identifying redundant government organizations and duplicate more of them.
