CDC?s Rochelle Walensky resigns, citing pandemic transition
Walensky Resigns as C.D.C. DirectorDr. Rochelle Walensky, the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, submitted her resignation Friday, saying the waning of the COVID-19 pandemic was a good time to make a transition.
Walensky?s last day will be June 30, CDC officials said, and an interim director wasn?t immediately named. She sent a resignation letter to President Joe Biden and announced the decision at a CDC staff meeting...
...Her departure comes as the administration contends with major vacancies in its Covid-19 response team. Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House's Covid-19 coordinator, plans to leave his position this month, along with other key officials, including Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, a White House adviser on the global response. A new White House pandemic office has no leader or staffing...
In an agencywide meeting, Dr. Walensky admitted to having mixed emotions about her decision and broke down in tears, according to people who had been on a conference call with her...
Dr. Walensky did not respond to a request for comment. Senior administration officials and outside experts have said that Dr. Walensky struggled with an unwieldy leadership structure at the Department of Health and Human Services, of which the C.D.C. is a part. The agency's relationship with the White House was sometimes tense, as her advice to the public sometimes seemed confusing or contradictory.
A person familiar with her thinking said that Dr. Walensky had also wearied of harassment from members of the public who were unhappy with pandemic restrictions and of long commutes between the C.D.C.'s offices in Atlanta and her home in Massachusetts...
Anne Sosin, who studies health equity at Dartmouth, said that Dr. Walensky had sometimes taken the fall for Biden administration decisions, but that she also could have done more to level with the public about the rationales for those decisions...
Dr. Daniel Pollock, who led Covid surveillance for a few months in 2020 and retired in November 2021 after 37 years at the agency, said: "The timing of this leadership transition is very problematic. I worked at C.D.C. under 10 different directors, and when they leave abruptly, for whatever reason, the ripple effects take a big toll."
It was not immediately clear who would lead the C.D.C. after Dr. Walensky's departure. Some scientists said Dr. Walensky's successor should be a public health generalist attuned to social problems and how to run a large federal agency, not a physician-scientist like Dr. Walensky... -

I'm sure she has had an open offer, at double her CDC pay, from The Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences for quite some time.
After all, mission accomplished, and she was one of their most valuable strategists to implement their plans.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?Comment

Always liked Dr. Suneel Dhand. So much corruption in the gov. The CDC has ruined so many businesses, lives and families not to mention the economy.

we don't need cdc as they failed in every way. all they were good at is peddling the shots. the WHO needs to be gone too. same goes with all those virology glam doctors on tv like alok patel and ching hong. how much publicity they each got since 2020 is just bonkers
rampant crime, failing economy will take republican through the 2024 race. these are what i care about. not masking, shots and washing hands.Comment

It's good.
But it's also bad:
I'll translate the government-speak: "We're searching for someone even more tyrannical than her"It was not immediately clear who would lead the C.D.C. after Dr. Walensky's departure. Some scientists said Dr. Walensky's successor should be a public health generalist attuned to social problems and how to run a large federal agency, not a physician-scientist like Dr. Walensky...Comment

We The People would need a 100 acre gallows to accommodate pigs

That was mostly at local level and was War Gamed PERFECTLY.
"chief county health officer" has ".....and any other they deem necessary" authority and IMO there are two ways of interpreting that.
1)That they don't need to call the Assembly back into session to pass a new law if the CCHO wants to buy a diff type of band-aids with the budget already in place, and that "in the course of their duties" they are perfectly free to make phone calls to WTF they want to call, etc. Sorta like as a "free citizen", I'm allowed to do "anything I want (as long as it doesn't break any laws, or infringe on anyone else's freedoms, etc)."
2)That CCHO are absolute dictators and this entire Constitution is basically joke "student government" that has exactly zero real power or authority, and only exists to handle menial jobs if the CCHO deigns to allow it.
How did they make #1 work? They started out gifting LEO's all sorts of new powers to screw with meek and mild "square citizens" which of course the LEO's bought into Hook, Line and Sinker. Last vestigial of Constitutional and democratic law were swept away.
THEN....they announced all cops had to be Vaxxed!
Classic "Deal with the Devil".
The Devil offers you a nifty short-cut to what you always wanted, and seems to have it all worked out and WTF could go wrong.
So you take the deal and for a moment you figured you've finally won it all, then that one little detail always crops up and you realize you've screwed yourself worse that you ever imagined.
I'm surprised They threw the cops under the bus as soon as they did, and how completely the normally powerful Police Union Lawyers sold them all out. Normally the PULs will fight to the death just for the sake of the fight (and billable hours). Maybe that was the 2nd Front on The War On Police of which Saint Floyd and BLM was main front.Comment
