It appears at the very least the the government is currently in the "dribble it out" phase of "admitting liability". If they can hide it, that is what they do. If not, they will cover it until it is apparent that the story will surface, at which point they will do a slow drip of "leaks". That way, when you go back months or years later and the entire story is out, they can point out that "we were honest about it all along, just look at the articles". The secondary benefit is that the attention span of the public tends to be short and a slop drip of seemingly mild admissions doesn't get put together as a single huge admission of epic proportions.

This is actually why I started watching Tim Pool about a decade ago. He is a left leaning journalist, but one who is willing to discuss all sides of an issue. You need to get our of your bubble because too many "news" outlets are lying for an agenda.
