This comes as cases of RSV are on the rise.

I think this represents part of the problem. Those who work in the trenches are, once again, worried about being overwhelmed. With all the shortages in staff being filled by 'visiting nurses' (if available and the facility can afford them) and an end to the 'mitigation' (i.e., a return to something akin to normalcy), I suspect that there is a certain legitimacy to the concern on their end. However...

The problem is that many in the same profession are coming around to what I asked early on... What happens when our immune system isn't given a chance to work naturally due to the lack of continuous exposure to things generating ongoing resistance? While we were assured, early on... Partly false claim: Staying at home and wearing a face mask weakens the immune system... Can Being Too Clean Weaken Your Immune System?... when the RSV spike happened last year, there was some debate which began to emerge along the lines of a benefit vs. risk assessment associated with 'normalcy' (with mitigation and treatments being available) and 'crisis mode' (where the virus was 'unknown' and treatments were limited, if they even existed)... The spike in RSV cases happened prior to vaccine approval/recommendation for the 5 - 11 and under 5 cohorts.

You forget it was common for brainwashed parents to get their children vaxxed before authorization for children was approved. There were lots of articles about it happening at the time. Of course the articles were written as if these parents were stunning and brave heroes.

I believe that was for children over the age of 12.

Now, given the timing of approval for kids 12 - 17, the correlation is, kinda, there.

If you'll remember, a major part of the hesitation was establishing the correct dosage. I'm sure there were a few who sneaked their kid through. But, the vast majority ran headlong into a reticence to lose their license and lawsuits. Thus, you would have to establish that the spike in cases were specifically tied to the younger age group who managed to slip through and not simply because 'the vaccine was out there.'
