I don't think there remains much doubt for many that this whole thing was 'engineered.' As your linked article declares...

In other words, the 'natural origin' and spread through the 'wet market' theory relies on quite a few assumptions, randomness/coincidence, and a lack of actual data. The 'man-made' theory, on the other hand, keeps gathering evidence that it cannot be 'natural' in origin, particularly given that some of what has been involved is claimed to simply not occur in nature.
