    Cruise Ships

We just finished a Ruby Princess cruise out of SF California. Coast sail to Ensenada MX. Only had to take our own covid test and download the results to the Princess/Medallion app. Got to the SF Cruise terminal and began the boarding process. No Mask required. First lady we came in contact with was amazed we were not vaccinated but per their rules, we were allowed on the ship. On departure back to SF, Princess had several of their employees telling us we had to mask up before entering the cruise terminal. Being free we ignored that BS and proceeded down the gangway. Halfway down a cruise ship terminal employee ordered everyone to remove their mask before we got to the security screening. What a joke.

Thanks for the info. I get e-mails almost daily from them. Took the Ruby from SF round trip to AK a few years ago. Nice ship.
Saw the ship leave SF late this evening. No Blue Angels so I guess they were free to depart. Going to Kona.
Thinking about doing another cruise now that masks/vax are not required.

That 15-day round trip to Hawaii is pretty awesome. Did that on Grand a few years back.

They should change the "p" in cruise ships to a "t"!

Left SF on Ruby for Alaska Aug 28. Ten days later returned to SF, got off the ship with a bad cold, and tested positive for the vid. My first bout with it. Sucked. It lasted 3-4 days, had some low o2 levels they have me some pure o2 and it helped. I don’t blame Princess. It’s a bug and it will be part of our lives for ever. Thanks Fauci

I have done 3 cruises spread over 30 years. I am not doing it again. Cruise ships have become floating petri dishes.

I sailed for 38 yrs. Once I was offerd a position on a cruise ship. I boarded, and after seeing the workings below deck, I disembarked.
A floating petri dish is an accurate statement.

I didn’t think I would enjoy a cruise but really enjoyed the family Disney cruise to Mexico. Would likely enjoy their Caribbean/Mexico cruise. As long as no mask , testing and/or anti social distancing.
Thought that was long gone by now.
Would not enjoy the swinging singles short cruises.

I did five or six cruises from 2014-2017 and never got sick once. More kids get norovirus in school than anyone gets on cruises.

Did a cruise 20 years ago. The wife got sick and was miserable. It was mostly about over eating rich food and feeling sick after. Crowds. Boredom. I have no idea why people enjoy it. To each his own.....

I like cruises, but after seeing that governments can quarantine the entire ship indefinitely for any reason, and you have exactly zero recourse, I don't see myself doing one ever again.
