While this amendment request was well recieved by legislators on both sides of the aisle, Asm Weber was not willing to amend the bill to incorporate an opt-out mechanism. The AVFCA lobbyists and legislative team will continue to work to gain legislator support with the goal of getting a bill authored to add an opt-out option to the California Immunization Registry, in 2023.
