I will keep saying this until someone pays attention: NO ONE EXPECTED DEATHS TO REMAIN ABOVE NORMAL ONCE COVID DEATHS FELL.

In fact, demographers and scientists generally assumed the opposite would occur. Covid deaths typically occur in people near the end of their lives, either from advanced age, morbid obesity, or other severe comorbidities. So demographic experts generally imagined deaths would run below average for months or years after Covid ended or nearly nearly ended.

Instead the opposite has occurred.

It is very concerning. Only counter point I've heard that might carry some weight, is that during COVID and the lockdowns, lots of people avoided (or were hampered in trying) to get regular ongoing care. Things like cancer screenings, or visiting a doctor for minor chest pains. A classic "wait until it's too late" problem. So now, 2+ years on, all those avoided medical support that could have just been preventative medicine, are now just killing people. Considering how fat and unhealthy now the majority of Western people are, most people really do need to be seeing a doctor very regularly. Could that account for all we're seeing? I wouldn't know, but it's plausible it is occurring on some scale. And another example of how the lockdowns probably did more harm than good (as quite a number of people warned at the beginning). So whether the vax is the proximate cause, or a combination - it's looking increasingly like that for COVID, the cure was far worse than the disease.
