Remember, HIV/AIDS started out as an unknown, then became a 'gay man's disease,' then became a death sentence, then became something you lived with, and has now become something where you can 'act normally' in many situations. In that sense, just as with many diseases, there is a progression which normally occurs. Just because we have our suspicions that the 'normal progression' is being used as a means by which society is altered, well... Demolition Man also predicted that and the resolution (or is that 'revolution?') which would inevitably result.

Just hope schools don’t go full blown overabundance of caution in two weeks.

The WHO, US and multiple states and cities have declared a Public Health Emergency for monkey pox. In other news, a bunch of children were exposed to a teacher that had monkey pox. I will not be surprised when there is an outbreak that involves children that will be used to justify a hard lockdown.

And yet no one freaked with Chickenpox and Measles

          Don’t think this is worst
Don’t think there’s a high likelihood of kids at school getting it

The small pox vaccine is effective for monkey pox. Many of us had that already.

I went to a new internal medicine doctor a while back. He wanted to give me several vaccines right then and there. I had no risk for any of the things being vaccinated against. I refused and left. I never went back. The guy was extremely creepy. Something unsettling is going on with the younger doctors.

Yep, this is what I remember too. My brother and I went to a couple. Never got the chickenpox though.

Remove the gay orgy participant teachers. Problem solved. It's for the children.

I wonder if any muslim countries would experience a monkeypox outbreak.

One caveat to that comparison is that chickenpox for a kid is just a nuisance, for an adult in the 1980s health system chickenpox was a possible trip to the hospital which is why the country had that "get it over with while still young" approach.

Does the West African and Central African countries where the virus came from count?

I'm more concerned with catching monkeypox than covid now. It can be transmitted by touching something that has monkeypox on it. For example, in a gym. If I use a dumbell after someone with monkeypox used it, I can potentially catch it. I haven't seen the pictures, but I heard it's NASTY.

if it doesn't spread that easily, then i have to wonder how kids are getting it.
the first known case of hiv in america was a minor, so i assume it would be transmitted the same way.

most recent reports says it has to be transmitted sexually.

This is what I've been able to find:
Additional transmission can occur from touching clothing, linens, or other items that came in contact with an infectious rash or body fluids.
