    I Got Da 'Rona!

Developed a sporadic, light dry cough yesterday with some accompanying mild nasal drip by evening. Since my respiratory illnesses almost invariably start with a sore throat, I wasn't very concerned. Temp was 98.7F.

Not any significant change by this morning, but since I had a pizza dinner date with the old riding buds, I decided to use a home Covid test kit. It came out positive, so canceled the meeting. Temp was 99.2F. So far the cough has mostly gone away, still some nasal drip at times. No sore throat or other symptoms other than some feeling of tiredness.

I am vaxx free, even at 70+ years old I believe I have better odds with alternatives. I take a bunch of vitamines C, D3 and zinc daily. With the positive test today, I started with Ivermectin. Yes, horse paste!!! "In Durvet We Trust". Ha! Note that it doesn't taste as much like apples as it does apple cider vinegar. However, just put the dose on your finger, stick it in the back of your throat and swallow, a little beer chaser, no biggie.

Not sure where I got tagged. Wife tested negative. I'm the only one in my riding group who didn't get the jab. All the guys my age went for the vaxx, including the conservatives and libertarians. A liberal scare coup. Oh, well. One suffered an ischemic stroke, another a burning pain in his shoulder, not where he got jabbed, but in the opposite shoulder that had been operated on a short time before.

So will see how this goes, pretty mild so far, wish me luck!

Wife and I got it mid May. Still have cough. Wife has asthma so she's still dealing with problems. They gave here steroids and that messes with her blood sugar.

You got a great attitude and I wish you the best of luck.

Out of curiosity how much "horse paste" do you have to use, daily or each time you take it? What's the proper dose to weight (for an adult man) ratio?

I'm about finished with my second round in 15 months. It's been 5-6 days. I should be 90% tomorrow..
This round wasn't as bad as the first one. My wife, son and oldest daughter are here, I'm sure they all have tested positive but none of them have any symptoms and they all have been vaxxed.
My wife tested positive, no symptoms, my son doesn't want to miss school so he hasn't tested and my daughter is a mail carrier and they want you working unless your dead (that's what she says )

        Get well
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Paxlovid if you catch it in the first 5 days.

Well OP your fate is sealed. You should be dead within the hour.

Oh wait, did you say the Rona? Oh well, you'll be mildly annoyed for the next couple of days and then be fine.

                Signed,

You'll do fine. The virus has mutated into a greatly weakened version of its former self just as predicted. Covid today is not the same covid as 2020 but the jerks running the show sure like to treat it as such.

OP, I had virtually identical symptoms about 2 weeks ago. And like you I am a big believer in vitamins and minerals.

When it happened I suspected the "stealth" Omicron so I responded just as you did. I didn't have a test handy so decided to shoot first and ask questions later. I had ivm & hcq obtained from back-channel sources and started taking those according to FLCCC I-MASK protocol.

                    Also took:
Lipospheric megadoses of vitamin C and hot-hot soaking baths to stimulate interferon production by the body (a powerful natural antiviral).
Dandelion green tea as an ACE2 receptor blocker.
Little bit of diphenhydramine (benadryl) at bedtime.
One regular aspirin per day to prevent clotting.
Of course continued the vit/min regimen (which includes the amino acid lysine and quercetin) but doubled up on zinc, half in am and the rest at night.
My own special recipe of chicken soup, prepared weeks previously and frozen for just such an occasion.

Outcome? Two days of cold symptoms, one day of fatigue, then back in business. Took it kinda easy all that week because I have a history of overdoing it after getting a cold that has sometimes delayed full recovery.

I finally did get an over-the - counter test (which showed negative for covid) but my company's chief medical officer has notified us in writing that false negatives are not uncommon with the at-home tests. Her (a full MD) words: "Antigen testing may be negative during the first several days of infection" so those who treat aggressively from the outset not allowing the virus to get firmly established and recover quickly, may never test pos at all.

Never got a fever, serious cough or loss of taste/smell more than as with a common cold. Like you I'm no spring chicken and my blood remains untainted. No idea on the vector but my wife attended a talk a few days prior and she suspects she may have brought it home from that. Zero symptoms for her.

                        3rd Day Update, FWIW

Okay, day three of the Covid experience (yeah, I know, yawn, zzzzz ...). Still don't feel all that bad. Mild cough lingering on, though producing a bit of phlegm now and then. Sinuses are open, but mild nasal drip continues. Worst symptom is feeling tired, a sense of general lethargy. But, hey, I'm over 70, hard to say how much of this is "normal".

So far this infection is less onerous than what I got at the height of the Delta Covid wave, which was clinically diagnosed then as non-Covid, hence a garden variety head cold. Current malady is so far markedly more mild. Knock on wood!

Second dose of horse paste this morning. Don't know if this is really helping or not, but I've developed this overwhelming desire to eat carrots. Not drinking green tea this time, too much to ask. Temp was 96.9, go figure.

In refusing the jab, I'm an outlier among my friends and family, particularly my triple vaxxed wife who insists I wear an N95 mask even when solo walking outside or driving alone. Whatever, I still stand by my fully informed and reasoned decision. Should I take a turn for the worse and croak off, so be it. "Ya pays yer money and takes yer choice." No guarantees, no regrets. If the Federal Government, Fed Bureaucracy, Democrat Party, Establishment RINO Party (screw you, Liz Cheney), WEF, WHO, NIH, FBI, CIA, NSA, Clinton Foundation, Open Society, or the like pushes anything, I'm against it, the self serving, perpetually lying, power hungry little fux. But don't get me started!

I'm reticent to make any recommendations, could be accused of mis/dis/malinformation or even practicing medicine without a license by the stupid, ignorant, insane, self serving, power hungry, sociopathic aholes who are unfortunately in control. I could even be banned from Facebook and Twitter. Oh, wait, I don't use Fecesbook or Titter! Dodged that one!

If you do a web search there is a lot of info available as far as dosage and timing. Please note that my best friend of over fifty years is a retired pharmacist who is very disappointed in my use of the paste. Well, we all have to make our own life decisions. In this case, if Fauci is for it, I'm agin' it, and vice-versa.
