Case Rates alegedly jumped up significantly this week...

Last night an executive for a decent sized employer (several thousand employees) in Nevada and California shared with me their internal memo re-instituting strict COVID standards because of the recent growth in COVID cases in most states and providing the data for the two states where they operate (below). This person said their internal case rate also jumped significantly the past couple of weeks but did not share the details, I assume this means their internal numbers are lower...
    3/12/2021

Nevada case rate up 'about a third' over last week

California case rate up 25% over last week
California case rate up 71% over two weeks ago

I did some searching online and can't find the data that directly confirms or denies this. Most of the stuff I see online ends the data as of 4/29 or 5/5 and don't break down the data in this way...

The graphs seem to show the last spike in January/February and the numbers being fairly low in comparison the past couple of months.

"Cases" mean next to nothing. If you're healthy but test positive, you're now a case. That has no meaning for any practical purposes.

Case rates in California are approaching pre-omicron virus waves. Most people aren't noticing because you'd have to zoom out the graph when you Google it.

Data distributed this week by the EOC:

San Francisco is leading the State with a test positivity rate of 9.4%. Hospitalizations are double from two weeks ago with 56 hospitalized and 7 in ICU.

        SCCDPH reports 327,114 cases up 1064 and 665 on a rolling 7 day avg; 2272 deceased; 137 hospitalized with covid and 52 ICU beds available;

CDC reports 82,087,117 cases up 146,624 and 996,376 deceased up 629 nationwide.

This is an example of using small numbers to misrepresent facts. Doubling a small number is still a small number. No action is needed.

I would expect a bump after the large omicron peak. That is how population growth curves work in nature. We are now looking at Omicron BA.2.1.2 emerging. With 95%+ having immunity already it is not a threat. BA.1 and BA.2 are flu. Hospitalization is almost never required.

I wish people would stop testing without serious symptoms. It fuels a narrative that is being used to destroy or economy and take our freedoms.

My child's school has a massive BA.1 (or BA.2) outbreak after a long bus trip to an amusement park. Most of the parents kept their mouths shut about their kids getting sick. For the kids it was a one or two day minor thing. IT was less then an ordinary cold my child got this week. For me is was more serious. Still, no hospital, no reporting anything to authorities.

People need to toughen up and deal with things like adults. Covid will be with us for the forseeable future. We need to accept that.

              Overabundance of caution.
Back to unnecessary masking, socialist distancing , and quadruple boosters designed for a different virus.

The only reason to count cases is to pump the numbers up and increase panic. That's it

Yesterday i saw Kim Jong-Un wearing a face diaper and declaring a lock-down in N.Koea. Will the population there even notice?

California COVID-19 Coronavirus update by county with statistics and graphs: total and new cases, deaths per day, current active cases, recoveries, historical data, trends, projections, and timeline.

OP, I've used this site from day 1 of the scamdemic - I click the box for "7 day average" for better clarity. You can hover over any data point
and it will give the exact #s for the specific day.

So when does Sisolak re-institute masking and lockdowns, or does he have to wait for Newsome to do it first?

Virulence is what matters, not case numbers. The very mild and weakened mutations going around today are not leading to hospitalizations and ICU admissions of consequence. As the virulence of the disease weakens, people need to learn to shift in their thinking and stop acting like there's going to be dead bodies stacked in the streets. The virus has moved on and so should we.

                              My local paper:

                              Cases
                              Cases
                              Cases

                              Hospitalization rates down.
