The past two years have shown me how gullible modern human are. Despite all the technology and information at our disposal, many still fall for it. I truly believe the administrations were not even sure they could pull it off in the US, let along the world. The lack of resistance was comforting to them. And the NPCs rising to the occasion to voluntarily confronting the resistance is just icing on the cake. For their actions, all the reward NPCs wanted and needed are virtual accolades from their peers/bots.
