I going to graduate school in a health career and need to get a covid shot. I'm pretty sure I have had it since I did everything I could to get it. Unfortunately my school requires a covid-19 vaccination. I would prefer not to get them considering the data that we have seen and the fact that I've almost certainly had it. Also, since it doesn't stop transmission, it seems the argument for protecting others isn't valid.
I have to train for mountain climbing this summer and I will be climbing a difficult route on Rainier + another local mountain for practice. That type of vigorous exercise and the covid vaccine has me concerned, since I am 31 and right about at the age of concern.
I travel to CA to see a doctor for another issue every 4-6 months, but he will not sign the documentation. Does anyone have experience getting a covid exemption or finding a doctor that does? Not going to this program isn't an option. Worst case scenario, I'll cancel my climbs and try to extend the time between both doses. I could probably extend them to about 6 weeks apart instead of 3.
I really don't want to get it, especially since they will almost certainly make me get boosters during my time in the program, meaning I could end up with 4 or 5 shots in just a few years. At 31, that seems incredibly unnecessary.
