    USA travel mask mandate extended

Masking forever! (Guess I just won't travel)

The Biden administration announced Wednesday that it is extending the nationwide mask requirement for public transit for 15 days as it monitors an uptick in COVID-19 cases.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it was extending the order, which was set to expire on April 18, until May 3 to allow more time to study the BA.2 omicron subvariant that is now responsible for the vast majority of cases in the U.S.

"In order to assess the potential impact the rise of cases has on severe disease, including hospitalizations and deaths, and health care system capacity, the CDC order will remain in place at this time," the agency said in a statement.

When the Transportation Security Administration, which enforces the rule for planes, buses, trains and transit hubs, extended the requirement last month, it said the CDC had been hoping to roll out a more flexible masking strategy that would have replaced the nationwide requirement.

The mask mandate is the most visible vestige of government restrictions to control the pandemic, and possibly the most controversial. A surge of abusive and sometimes violent incidents on airplanes has been attributed mostly to disputes over mask-wearing.
Comply, serf. And get back to work, the government needs your tax dollars.

What's BS about this administration's decision (once again) is that just the other day I had read online that the government had until this coming Monday (April, 18th) to decide this issue and that they were going to release their decision at that time.

So could someone in the government offices who had three extra days work on some numbers and put together the correct answer?
OR would they just postpone deciding an important issue for the country like they did.

They are mistaken thinking most passengers believe masks keep them from getting general illnesses from being in a plane or bus.

Most passengers likely don’t worry about getting sick anyway.

The mask must be a personal choice issue

As the midterms draw closer they'll realize these actions will only backfire. No other way out of this mess.

In the meantime, bullies will bully.

They are now stuck. If the lose the masks the 30% who are true believers will stay home from voting for their rules. The die is cast.

Dumb, I have to fly quite often. The flight attendants don't want it anymore. The one's I have had recently don't enforce the mandate.

I usually just grab a cup/bottle of water in the airport and take slow sips the entire time. On the plane, I just suck on a lollipop. So far none of the flight attendants had bothered me about that.

It's that easy? I haven't flown for two years but I read stories of people getting kicked off planes for not masking. Maybe it's not that bad.

A federal judge on Monday voided the Biden administration's mask mandate for travelers using public transportation such as trains and airplanes.

Federal judge just tossed the travel mask mandate. Good news
