Advice on weekly testing?

Hello Calgunners,

I was given a temporary religious exemption at my job from getting the Covid Vaccine, but I guess that entails weekly covid testing.

I got a positive test about 2 and a half months ago, I guess I'm not required to get another test for 90 days after getting a positive test.

If you were in my shoes, would you do the weekly covid testing to keep a job? Or would you perhaps risk going under the radar and just not do any testing and not tell anyone, and hope no one notices that you're not testing weekly? If I don't test and just dont tell anyone, I might be able to get away with it for at least a few months....

Then maybe after 2-3 months if they ask me why I am not testing maybe i'll just get a slap on the wrist.

I do not want to do nasal swab testing weekly and expose myself to possible ethelyne oxide, a carcinogen. It might not be so bad if I could find a good way to do consistent saliva spit testing in my area....

Does anyone have any advice please

I had a religious exemption filed and just last week, got an email that the vaccine policy has been cancelled all together.. So hopefully this stupidity will die down and no one would notice or care... Would have Hated to stick that thing up my nose every freakn week....

Testing? Using test kits made in China? I think they come with pre-positive results.

It depends how easily you can find another job if they fire you. If easily, F the tests. If not easily, well, F the tests because who the hell wants cancer.

OP download iHealth COVID test app and follow up instruction for test. On the end you will have QR code with your name, result and how many days pass after test. During test you will be asked questions which will determinate your test result. Those are “yes” and “no” answers.

Though you didn't say, it sounds like you are being asked to self-test and self report on your own instead of being tested by a third party. If that's the case, then you have some flexibility. If you are concerned about being exposed to ethelyne oxide on the nasal swab, just supply your own nasal swab like a Q-tip and don't use the one that comes in the kit.

Be creative with the wording of the policy and find a way to comply in a way that's most advantageous to you. If you decide to defy testing altogether, be prepared to accept whatever action your employer decides in regards to your defiance.

when asked for results- home test kit is the answer

I would do the testing. Over time a series of negative tests will be documented. The accumulated data will help support a policy change.

I would just not comply and see what happens next.
Make them push the issue, they must be the bad guy, make them own their tyranny.

Luckily I have not had to face this issue as directly as some.
I was on a project that the customer was requiring vaccine compliance in order to be on site, and as soon as it was mentioned in a meeting I immediately contacted our PM and told him I refused and would work off site or be reassigned.

I then got wiser and just never spoke of it again, and guess what, no one else ever spoke of it either.

Use a sinus rinse before the test to avoid a positive reaction. Use a sinus rinse after if you are afraid of whatever might be on the swab.
