Impossible Mask Rules at French Hotel

The wife and I are visiting Normandy. Get to the hotel and am told I need to take my US vaccine card to a pharmacy and pay them $30 to have it translated to the French, digital version. These people speak perfect english and are perfectly capable of reading my vaccine card, but that's the law. At the pharmacy, I'm told I have to download a French government app that will track wherever I go and allow for me to be contact traced. So the government now knows my every move.

So I return to the hotel with my 'papers'. I'm told I have to wear a mask in the lobby. I look around and see others not wearing masks. I ask "what the heck?!?!"

French receptionist tells me those are guests of the hotel's restaurant. As of 2/28/22, restaurant patrons don't need to wear masks. But since I'm a hotel guest, I still have to...in the same damn lobby. The French valet & bell staff are wearing gators that say 'Hyatt' on them. Apparently Fauci's 'science' that these don't work hasn't made it to Europe yet.

That night the wife and I go to dinner at the restaurant. I don't bring a mask. Front desk reminds me i need one, but I remind him that I don't, because at this moment, I'M A DINER AT THE RESTAURANT! The hostess asks to see my French vaccine app to verify I am "sanitary". I tell them I already showed it to the front desk when I checked in, and don't have my phone with me. She tells me I need to show it to her again......for contact tracing. So I have to go back to my room to get my phone.

Why is the world OK with this madness? Maybe getting rid of this stupidity is what Putin means by de-nazifying. If so, I'm all for it!
