Admin pulls mandate

Now if companies will follow suit -

My company has a home-grown 'mandate' that was implemented apart from the OSHA thing. There are also no exceptions whatsoever.
- Vaxxed? Life continues like normal
- Unvaxxed? You're persona non-grata. You're remote only, if approved.
Nonetheless this is a 'good thing' for many people.
The bad part is that the government has learned how to implement such a mandate. Next time it will be more airtight and more difficult to overturn even via SCOTUS.Comment

Barnes law said the SCOTUS ruling isn't as bad as you think. They outline the requirement that exemptions need to be granted pretty readily so there's no company that can ignore exemptions. My company has a home-grown 'mandate' that was implemented apart from the OSHA thing. And a religious exemption includes strong moral beliefs such as not believing in government mandates for medical procedures.Comment

Mine can ignore it. They're not requiring the shot - they're just making life very inconvenient without it. No one's going to get fired.Barnes law said the SCOTUS ruling isn't as bad as you think. All for my safety of course! (Not for the safety of the Vaxxed, because per the company they're 100% protected - I'm 0% protected)Comment

There's not going to be any silver bullet that makes all of this nonsense go away overnight, but in context this is a pretty huge win. Imagine if it had gone the other way, virtually every employee in the nation would have to get this crap. This allows companies to make their own choices, and the same with employees. Already we've seen two major employers (GE and Starbucks) abandon their mandates and I think others will also as omicron subsides. Remember most companies want to be "fashionable" with their industry peers, and in a year it won't be fashionable any longer to force this on your employee base.Do not give in to evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.Comment
