    Youngest one has the c19

So I had covid in 2020, wife and older son had it a couple months ago - roughly a year after I went through it. Now youngest finally caught it (fever, sleeping constantly.)

What this tells me is that covid isn't really as contagious as 'they' say. Otherwise the entire household would have suffered through it when I first brought it home. I didn't even move to a different room, wife slept next to me the entire time. And when my wife & oldest had it, the youngest still did not get it.

Who knows where he finally got it. Work perhaps? We gave him a test since we have friends coming to visit and they're somewhat in the vaxxing/masking camp. Likely they'll cancel and get a hotel instead

Sorry to hear it. He'll be a ok! Our 11 year old at the time was back to her self in two days. No joke.

Middle daughter has it currently, 24yrs.

Had a three day fever break last Wed. Had Lots of pain in throat and some coughing. No taste or smell. Mostly over symptoms getting tested tomorrow to see if she can return to work.

Fully vaxed hospital medical laboratory scientist.

If you got tested sometime in the last two years in NorCal it might have come thru their lab and she might have processed it. At the beginning of covid they has the largest processing facility in the state with specimens coming in from as far away as San Diego until more the large Abbot architect machines were bought and distributed throughout state.

Good to hear, OP. The strains are getting weaker and weaker as it mutates. Back in early 2020, once we learned it is airborne, that is the ONLY realistic hope we had. Glad it worked out for us.

Too bad for those hundreds of thousands innocent Chinese subjects in WuHan though. The OG SARS–CoV–2 took them and sometimes their whole families down.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for your son. A few kids at our daughter's class got it, all bounced back quickly, and eventually returned to class.

We lost an aunt in AZ around June 2020. Her husband was by her side taking care of her up to the moment he dropped her off at the hospital, the last time they saw each other. My aunt was diagnosed with Lupus prior to catching covid, she died on the ventilator. My uncle, on the other hand, is diabetic and a lifelong smoker, never had any symptoms. He even had three negative tests performed at different locations during that Summer before moving back to CA to live with us. We all thought he was next to go but the guy is kicking strongly to this day. He always tells me the smoking likely kept the covid away for him

He may not be wrong about that. It is an respiratory virus after all.

As regards smokers and covid, I'm sure plenty got it.
However, there was a count done in England that found no smokers in the initial groups of Covid sufferers.
The researchers were surprised, they expected the smokers to be hard hit.
The last thing they wanted to say is that smoking might have a benefit, so the story died quick.

Well he seems to be over it for the most part. Mild fever for about 1.5 days, then felt lethargic.

Couldn't take any pills, they make him gag. Ended up with some liquid dayquil the first day, nyquil the next night, a few tylenols the next day and that was it.

Age 17. Not going to tell work/school that he has 'covid' or they'll freak out, but he's staying home until he's 100%.

Hope he doesn't give it to me by my posting in this thread, seeing as how it's so contagious and all.

Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

                      It's been a good life.
