Yes, they are stupid, also incompetent, some are criminals.

Incompetent, I got a blood test result recently that indicated that I had blood cancer. Instead of not reporting the test result and repeating the test, they reported a terminal diagnosis as fact via emial. They botched the test.

Criminal, I was strongly encouraged to have a surgery that would have likely caused permanent disability. It was for an annoyance, not something life threating. The opening for the procedure was in two days. The doctor lost his medical license months later for doing unnecessary surgeries.

Incompetent, many times I have received terrible advice. I cna not count the times I waited months for a 7-minet visit to a doctor who was disinterested. I have been refused timey service for real issues. I have been refused referral to a specialist for a life threating infection. I was told to see a psychiatrist. I self referred and saved my life.

I could go on with many other examples. Medical errors are one of the leading causes of death. The medical system can be good. Since the government took it over it is not mostly useless, sometimes it is a real threat to your life.

Except that's a silly argument. Pre-surgery sedatives are safe and effective too. But if a baby gets an adult dose it will probably be fatal. Pretty much a universal thing with medicine.
