That is a great point, but how is testing not a factor when there are countless cases where deaths have been attributed to the virus when it had nothing to do with the death? Are the utterly unreliable PCR tests no longer used? How are these deaths being attributed to the virus? To give NPR even a shred of credibility, especially on this topic, is misguided at best.

avoiding Covid is important too since it's pretty well established that it can
indeed kill you.

One of our elderly members from a blue state was espousing that Covid
was only a cold here for quite a while.....not so much anymore and I'm glad.

It is a bioweapon and a virus manipulated by man for a particular purpose.

Decline the jab because "freedom" if that's your thing fine but take steps to stay healthy as well.

While you likely cannot prove this, that is one of the more plausible explanations. That and the fact that whoever is collecting the data is playing games.

There was an "epidemic" of necrotizing fasciitis about a decade back. The media began to report on EVERY known case of this "flesh-eating virus" (never mind that it's not "flesh-eating" nor is it "viral"). The attention went on for about a year before something else distracted their attention (I think it was Hantavirus).

When data was reviewed and compared to data from all of the previous years where the condition was tracked, it was revealed that the incidence that year was absolutely unchanged from the incidence over the past nearly 100 years of data (and it turns out, the years thereafter as well).

What happened was selection bias. If you go out looking specifically for something and discard any data that doesn't fit your preconceived notions, you will likely end up "proving" your point.

Well stated. Some people have seen so much dishonesty in government and media that they are convinced that Covid is a total hoax or a mild cold. It is a bioweapon that likely escaped before the CCP was ready to launch it. It does have a lethality about the same as a bad influenza as well.

The MSM decries this statement, but it isn't too far off. Covid hasn't turned out to be the next Spanish Flu, but that points out several important points, most notedly that the Flu isn't a minor illness-especially during "bad" years.

Pretty sure the LA freeway shootings were promoted the same way. I spoke with a chp officer at the time. He said shootings were not up at all. The news just reported them every night so people thought there was a huge surge.
