Federal judge blocks vax mandate for federal contractors

I wonder if they'll also merge this with the existing suits against the OSHA rule. Lots of businesses are both 100+ employers, and also do contracts with the government so it seems plenty would have standing in both suits. And both mandates are executive-branch rulemaking. -
There now appear to be four major categories of merit: the military and federal employees, Universities and private businesses, OSHA mandates, and Federal Contractors. At this point the first two have been upheld while the other two are blocked. In the case of federal contractors the judge ruled that Congress did not give the Executive the authority regulate federal procurements in this way. That is probably a very strong point, and fundamentally different from the OSHA figuring which, I think, keep them separate. But you point out that there are fundamental overlaps as well.I wonder if they'll also merge this with the existing suits against the OSHA rule. The military should have to take the vaccine either. I understand that service members get a **** ton of vaccines, however, this vaccine has been politicized and for that reason alone it should not be mandatory.Originally posted by FalconLairI weep for my country and what it is becoming.Comment

Not wasted time IMO. My best guess is the Biden mandates on private business getting blocked is only a temporary break for us Californians. The state legislature comes back in session January 3rd, and we'll probably see them create a California vax mandate on employers, and pass it as an emergency measure to take effect fairly quickly.
I'd bet money we'll have a state mandate in effect around the April-May time frame, and unfortunately one passed by the state legislature would probably be legal and constitutional.Comment

No word from my company or union yet.Comment

My company says they are trying to figure out what this ruling means to the company. This whole time they have been saying it isn't the company doing the mandate, it is the government. I think they are trying to figure out how they can continue the company mandate (because there are lots of people too afraid to come to the office because a dirty unvaxxed might breath out near them), without looking like obvious liars.Comment
